Spring devlog
Another actual devlog to tease out what will be coming in the next huge update I have been working on the last few months.
As a reminder, the Chapter 4 of Verloren (who will probably also be the last one) will consist of four distinct phases.
I am currently working on the massive phase 3 that will cover a brand new region with a huge city to visit and an optional dungeon.

New maps
The megalopolis of Nessina will be the party's playground in the next update. It contains 8 shops and 3 guilds plus a couple of other miscellaneous buildings where you will be able to spend all your hard earned money.
You will be able to choose yourself what you will do during your stay here. Would you like to train yourself in the mages' or warriors' guild? May be you would prefer complete a long quest? Or go to the theatre? Or just play monstrocards? It is up to you.
You will have four time slots (9am, 1pm, 5pm and 9pm). Each you want to do a long activity, the game will ask you if you want to use your current time slot to do it, and if accepted the clock will advance 4 hours. It means you won't have the possibility to do everything (at least not on the same save file 🧚).
The current time will decide what activities are available to you. For example, the theatre play starts at 21pm, not before. Most shops are also closed during the night, so you better have made your shopping before.
The main city's buildings can be entered in (there are 15 indoor maps in total). A few examples:
Bigger city means bigger Adventurer Guild.
Magic is just science we do not understand yet.
So how are you going to finance your shopping in this city? With quests, obviously, but also with a place that will be your main source of gold for this region: the old aqueduc.
Well Fortunastreet, that looks like a big maze. I am sure it means there will be a map functionality in the next update, right?
Hum, no? 🧚
There isn't any map of the old aqueduc, the main reason being than it is actually a partially randomly generated dungeon. On each floor you will have to find your way to the next stairs, drawing yourself a map if you don't want to get lost. After a few floors (for the moment 2, but I may change that amount based on players' returns), you will reach a fixed room that may be the goal of one of your secondary quest and contains a teleporter to go back to or come back from the entrance quickly. The ultimate (and in-game time consuming) challenge will be to reach the bottom floor where a treasure may be waiting for you. Or not. 🧚
New enemies
There will some new enemies (and some returning ones) in the old aqueduc, including a brand new boss. However I haven't much to show about them yet.
New artworks and outfits
The next update will include at least 3 new illustrations (who unlike the previous ones can missed), and one new outfit
for each of the four characters of chapter 4, increasing the illustrations and alternate outfits counts to 19 and 17 respectively.
When will the next big update come?
I hope to release it in 2025. I may do some minor updates before if an important bug is found in the mean time.
